Not content to rest on the success of the jump rope, Bobby developed portable “functional fitness” gym equipment that delivered a total-body workout, with resistance provided by rubber surgical tubing instead of traditional weights. Scientific studies have proven that pumping rubber beats pumping iron for aerobic and anaerobic fitness strength training. This became the basis for several innovative, patented Lifeline USA products that followed.
Meanwhile, Bobby's son Jon was making a career of his exercise science certifications in southern California. The Los Angeles Clippers’ strength coach also served as a personal trainer to celebrities like Bruce Springsteen, Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson. In 1997, Jon returned to Wisconsin and launched his unique Monkey Bar Gym. It was the Midwest’s only gym to exclusively feature body weight and Lifeline USA’s functional fitness equipment. Free weights and traditional exercise machines are about as welcome here as fast food and cigarettes.
Together, Jon and Bobby remain busy inventing and patenting award-winning solutions for overall core strength and functional fitness, such as Lifeline USA’s Power Wheel and the Power Pushup 2. In fact, more time is devoted to research and development of new exercise equipment than in any other area of Lifeline USA’s operations.
